Stellar in Bruges, France, seeks a Director of Software Development to own the architecture and technical execution of the STEER software stack across edge and management layers. This is a hands-on leadership role with a small, senior engineering team, guiding sprint cadence, backlog triage and delivery in an agile setup.

Qualifications

• Significant software engineering experience with architecture/leadership.
• Proven leadership of a software engineering team and capacity planning.
• Experience leading a distributed international team with remote/hybrid work.
• Strong Linux fundamentals across edge to management platform.
• Solid networking fundamentals (IP, routing, VPNs).
• Hands-on agile leadership including sprint cadence and backlog triage.
• Proactive stance on AI-assisted development and modern workflows.
• Strong documentation habits and ownership of end-to-end delivery.

Responsabilités

• Define and evolve the STEER Suite architecture balancing long-term coherence and delivery pressure.
• Document and decide on build, release, and deployment strategies across dev, QA, production.
• Own technical standards, code quality and debt management.
• Act as the senior technical point of contact on customer projects.
• Lead software engineering team through mentoring and capacity planning.
• Run the team's agile cadence: sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives.
