Keller Executive Search client in Paris seeks a Head of Design Operations to own the design function, leading designers and technical staff, managing budgets and workload, and ensuring every concept and output meets international client standards.

The role is hybrid (2 days remote), with approximately 5% travel across Europe, and a base salary of 75,000–90,000 € gross per year. Fluency in French and work eligibility in France required.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in an operational leadership role within architecture, interior design, workplace fit-out or construction.
• Proven track record managing and developing teams of design or technical professionals, including workload planning and resourcing.
• Experience overseeing project budgets and cost control.
• Strong technical literacy, able to read and challenge technical plans without personally producing concepts.
• Client-facing experience with international clients.
• Proficiency in French at professional level.

Responsabilités

• Provide hands-on operational leadership to design professionals and external freelance resources across concept development and technical design phases.
• Manage workload allocation, resourcing and scheduling to deliver reliably and on deadline.
• Own budget oversight and cost control across the design function.
• Review, challenge and quality-check technical plans and design outputs before they go to clients.
• Act as a key client-facing contact on design quality and delivery for international clients on large-scale projects.
• Strategically deploy freelance and external resources to support scaling of the team.
• Coach, mentor and develop a high-performing team culture.
• Partner with pre-construction and delivery teams to ensure seamless handover from concept to completion.
• Report to senior leadership on team performance and resourcing needs.
