Full Time Custodian

The Town of Bel Air is accepting applications for the position of Full Time Custodian in the Department of Public Works. This is a maintenance and cleaning occupation in the Department of Public Works and involves the performance of a full range of custodial duties in the Town Hall, as well as, various other Town facilities.

Essential Job Functions

• Performs various cleaning tasks on a daily basis or as needed in the Town Hall, Parks and Recreation Building, William A. Humbert Amphitheater, Rockfield Park Comfort Station, Parking Garage elevators and other facilities as assigned.
• Takes inventory of cleaning supplies and orders supplies as necessary.
• Assists in snow/ice removal from around Town facilities.
• Performs other related maintenance duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Requires graduation from high school or GED
• possession of a valid Class “C” driver’s license, and Maryland Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Card)
• two (2) years of related experience
• must be able to demonstrate the principles of safe lifting and have the ability to lift 100 pounds
• must be able to demonstrate the safe and proper use of basic hand tools and cleaning equipment

Special Requirements

Must have a valid drivers license to drive/operate Town vehicles and equipment.
