IXO is engaging specialists to evaluate materials simulations that expose both coding and scientific reasoning. Your contribution is technical work: make the reasoning inspectable, identify substantive errors and provide evidence that supports a reliable assessment.

Remote assignments are scheduled by agreement, with no guaranteed weekly volume. Availability planning can include up to 15 hours per week depending on the track. IXO confirms timing before work.

Qualifications

• Master's/PhD in materials, metallurgy or related discipline.
• Experience in modelling, simulation or engineering analysis tied to structure/property behavior using Python.
• Ability to define checks, document assumptions and assess reproducible results.

IXO is engaging specialists to evaluate materials simulations that expose both coding and scientific reasoning. Your contribution is technical work: make the reasoning inspectable, identify substantive errors and provide evidence that supports a reliable assessment.

Work you will do

• Build or assess reproducible computational tasks in materials science using Python and the relevant simulation environment.
• Run and debug the methods needed to establish a defensible reference result.
• Define scientific checks and document assumptions, limitations and failure modes so task correctness can be judged objectively.

Required background and routes

• A master's/doctorate in materials, metallurgy or a related discipline; mechanical or chemical engineering graduates need substantial materials specialization.
• Practical modelling, simulation, characterization or engineering analysis tied to structure/property behavior, plus Python and coding-agent experience.
• Use suitable programmatic materials tools; academic, national-laboratory and industrial research are relevant routes, and equivalent command-line software is acceptable.

Deliverables

• Submit the completed technical artifact or assessment with its supporting evidence, explicit assumptions, reproducible checks where applicable, and concise reasons for each material judgment. Address review findings within the agreed scope.
