Job summary

The Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB) offers an internship in Environmental and Social Sustainability (ESS) focusing on climate change. The internship is housed in TAM Directorate within the ESS Unit and provides exposure to due diligence, policy development, and project assessment.

Selected candidates will work under supervision to develop safeguards frameworks, engage with internal stakeholders, and contribute to climate resilience analyses in a multicultural setting.

Qualifications

• Graduated within the past 24 months or currently enrolled in the final academic year at an institute of higher education (ideally at a Master’s level or equivalent).
• Studies in social sciences, political sciences, community development, planning, applied economics, environmental sciences or related discipline.
• Courses on climate risks and resilience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to social and environmental safeguards due diligence of new project proposals submitted to CEB for financing, including initial screening and risk assessment.
• Contribute to the climate change assessment and identify climate-related risks, mitigation measures and cobenefits.
• Support collaboration with relevant CEB units to mobilise technical expertise and develop grant-funded activities.
