The European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) seeks a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to define and drive the cybersecurity strategy across the organisation. You will provide strategic leadership, coordinate initiatives across divisions, and build consensus among stakeholders.

With 10–15 years in IT and at least 3 years in cybersecurity, you will lead security programs, manage risk, and drive improvements in a complex scientific IT environment in Grenoble, France.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field.
• At least 10–15 years IT experience with at least 3 years in cybersecurity.
• Ability to influence multidisciplinary teams and coordinate cybersecurity initiatives across departments.
• Proven leadership or potential to lead a small team.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsabilités

• Develop, maintain, and improve ESRF's cybersecurity policies, standards, and governance framework.
• Define cybersecurity roadmap, establish priorities, and oversee strategic action plan implementation.
• Coordinate cybersecurity activities across ESRF divisions to ensure a consistent security posture.
• Maintain the organization's cybersecurity risk assessment process and initiate audits as needed.
• Oversee security controls implementation and ensure policy compliance.
• Monitor vulnerability alerts and coordinate remediation actions.
• Keep IT teams informed of emerging threats and mitigations.
• Design and coordinate cybersecurity awareness and training programs for ESRF staff.
• Define KPIs and report security risks and performance to senior management.
