The European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) seeks a Chief Information Security Officer to define and drive the organisation's cybersecurity strategy while fostering a strong security culture. You will coordinate initiatives across divisions and provide strategic leadership without direct IT line management.

Key responsibilities include policy development, roadmapping, risk assessment, audits, and KPI reporting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field.
• 10–15 years IT experience, at least 3 years in cybersecurity.
• Proven ability to influence multidisciplinary teams across departments.
• Leadership experience or strong potential to lead a small team.
• Excellent communication, with English proficiency.
• Experience in large-scale scientific or research IT environments is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Define and drive ESRF's cybersecurity strategy, policies, and governance.
• Coordinate cybersecurity activities across divisions for a consistent security posture.
• Develop cybersecurity roadmap, priorities, and strategic action plans.
• Maintain risk assessments, audit processes, and remediation strategies.
• Oversee security controls implementation and policy compliance.
• Monitor threats, coordinate vulnerability management, and remediation.
• Develop cybersecurity awareness and training programs for staff.
• Report cybersecurity metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
