TotalEnergies Group is seeking an experienced Algo Trading Developer in the Île-de-France region. You will design, develop and industrialize algorithmic trading solutions used across European markets, focusing on performance, scalability and reliability.

You will collaborate with traders, IT and business teams to turn requirements into robust software. You will work on low-latency data pipelines, deploy to Cloud environments (AWS) and help evolve trading platforms to support business growth

Qualifications

• Master's degree in computer science, financial markets, or related field.
• Strong Python (and/or C#) expertise and experience with complex architectures.
• Experience delivering robust trading or financial-grade software.
• Comfort working with end users to understand requirements and deliver value.

Within TotalEnergies's Trading & Shipping division, the Algo Trading team designs, develops and maintains the algorithmic solutions used for power trading activities across European markets. This fast-growing business relies on advanced technological tools to automate decision-making, optimize trading strategy execution and enhance market operation performance.

Reporting to the Algo Trading team, you will operate at the intersection of trading activities and technology. You will contribute to the development, maintenance and industrialization of algorithmic trading solutions in order to support business growth and provide traders with high-performing, reliable and scalable tools

Activities

Development and Industrialization of Trading Solutions

• Develop, maintain and enhance the applications and algorithms used by traders;
• Industrialize and optimize existing solutions to ensure robustness, scalability and suitability for production environments;
• Design and develop high-performance backend services in Python and/or C#;
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of software architectures and development best practices;
• Ensure the quality, reliability and performance of business-critical trading applications.

Collaboration with Business Teams

• Understand traders' functional requirements and translate them into appropriate technical solutions;
• Support users in the adoption and evolution of trading tools;
• Participate in day-to-day interactions with Trading, IT and Business teams;
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities to improve and automate business processes.

Integration, Performance and Operations

• Develop and maintain low-latency real-time data flows;
• Participate in the deployment of applications in Cloud environments (such as AWS);
• Implement automated testing to ensure development quality;
• Provide technical support and resolve incidents affecting production applications;
• Contribute to the evolution of algorithmic trading platforms to support business growth

Candidate Profile

You hold a Master's degree (Master's level or equivalent) in Computer Science, Financial Markets, or a related field, and have solid experience in software development, ideally gained within demanding environments where performance, reliability and responsiveness are critical success factors. You possess strong expertise in Python (and/or C#) and have worked with complex architectures requiring technical rigor and a strong industrial mindset.

You enjoy working closely with end users to understand their needs and deliver high value-added solutions. Experience in trading, financial markets or the energy sector would be considered an asset, although it is not mandatory.

Recognized for your analytical skills, autonomy and pragmatic approach, you are comfortable working in fast-paced and evolving environments while collaborating effectively with a variety of stakeholders. Your technical curiosity, innovative mindset and professional level of English will enable you to thrive in this role.
