Job summary

Burgess Recruitment is seeking a Captain for a 60ft private motor yacht, based in the South of France. The position is permanent with Mediterranean cruising, led by the Captain, and requires excellent credentials for a similar vessel.

Sole Captain during winter and a Stewardess for summer. Salary is €6,000 per month in summer (April–September), €2,000 per month in winter (October–March) from 2027 onward, and €6,000 per month during the initial refit period.

Qualifications

• Previous Captain experience on similar-sized motor yachts.
• Strong Mediterranean cruising experience.
• Experience with Arneson surface drive systems (essential).
• Proven experience managing maintenance, shipyard periods and refit projects.
• Hands-on, organised and capable of working independently.

Start Date: ASAP

Salary: €6,000/month during the summer season (April–September), €2,000/month during winter lay-up (October–March) from 2027 onwards. €6,000/month during the initial refit period.

Leave: 38 days annually

Qualifications: Appropriate Captain's certification for the vessel

Requirements:

• Previous Captain experience on similar-sized motor yachts
• Strong Mediterranean cruising experience
• Experience with high-performance vessels and Arneson surface drive systems (essential)
• Proven experience managing maintenance, shipyard periods and refit projects
• Hands-on, organised and capable of working independently
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional, service-oriented approach
