Job summary

Youtrust, a European digital trust platform, is looking for a backend-focused engineer in Paris. You will own server-side development with PHP/Symfony, integrate PostgreSQL ORM, and ensure CI/CD quality.

You’ll work in autonomous squads, pair-programming, and leverage AI tools daily to accelerate delivery while maintaining security and compliance. The role combines back-end focus with front-end familiarity and mentoring in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Master back-end development in PHP with Symfony or Laravel.
• Relational DBs and ORM experience.
• CI principles and automated tests are expected.
• Daily use of AI coding tools (Claude Code or Codex).
• Clear written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Design and build features with your squad to meet OKRs.
• Analyse product needs and propose technical design documented in Architecture Decision Records.
• Maintain high code quality with patterns, tests, and automation.
• Monitor observability, performance and security in production.

Your Role

At Youtrust, we build a European digital trust platform used by thousands of businesses through our app and our API. The product has to stay simple for tens of thousands of client companies and millions of users, while meeting strict security and compliance requirements. It is multi-tenant and multi-country, and it is built to launch in new markets quickly.

You will join one of our autonomous squads. Each squad has developers, a Product Designer and a Product Manager working toward a shared objective (OKR). Squads own both build and run: you design, ship, deploy and maintain what you build.

We follow KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) when we pick architecture and tools, so we use simple, proven solutions. Back-end: PHP / Symfony, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, Docker, Terraform, Pulumi, GitLab, Datadog. Front-end: React, TypeScript, Cypress. AI tools such as Claude and Codex are part of how we build software every day.

We learn together. We have guilds by expertise (Back-end, Front-end), we pair program, we hold a monthly tech talk, and everyone can go to one conference of their choice each year.

Your Responsibilities

• Design and build features with your squad's developers, designer and Product Manager, working toward a clear objective (OKR).

• Analyse product needs and propose a technical design that fits, documented in Architecture Decision Records.

• Keep your team's code quality high: design patterns, maintainable and testable code, automated tests.

• Look after observability, performance and security, and keep the features you ship running well in production.

• Use AI tools and agentic workflows to design, write, test and review code faster without lowering quality.

• Share progress on your work clearly and regularly.

• Take an active part in team life: offer help and ask for it as often as needed.

• Work with Lean and agile methods: a mix of Scrum and Kanban, dailies, short iterations, demos and retrospectives.

• If you want to, share what you know with the tech community through blog posts, meetups or conferences.

Your Profile

• You want to build a product with real impact, and you have solid experience doing it.

• You master back-end development in PHP and at least one framework such as Symfony or Laravel.

• You are used to working with a relational database and an ORM.

• You know continuous integration principles.

• Code quality is a priority for you: maintainable, testable code covered by automated tests.

• You use AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex every day, including advanced workflows: agents, multi-step tasks, custom instructions and context. This is a must.

• You explain things clearly and take time to mentor other developers.

• You work well in a team, you listen and you show empathy.

• You can write and speak English.

Nice to have:

• Full-stack affinity: you are comfortable with React and TypeScript. This is a big plus.

• A detailed view of running APIs in production: alerting, monitoring, performance.

• Experience in a B2B SaaS company or at a software vendor.

• You take part in the tech community by writing content or speaking at meetups or conferences.

1. Back-end CodinGame test, 45 min

2. Interview with Guillhem, Talent Acquisition Manager, 30 min

3. Live back-end coding test with an Engineering Manager and a Senior Back-end Developer, 90 min. You will code live with AI tools, so please make sure you have access to Claude, Codex or an equivalent tool.

4. Fit discussion with Thomas, Engineering Director, 30 min
