Job summary

Wandercraft is expanding its Perception and Navigation Team to advance autonomous robot perception, mapping, and navigation. The team collaborates with AI & Control and other R&D groups to push the state of the art in perception, machine learning, and model-based control.

Responsibilities include sensor selection, literature reviews, proposing and presenting novel algorithms, and testing on real robots as well as simulations. Travel to customer sites may be required to validate performance.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or PhD in perception, navigation, machine learning, robotics or related field.
• Experience with Python/C++, team-based development and CI practices.
• Prototyping mindset with robotics projects and experimentation.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to learn from literature.

Responsibilities

• Select vision/perception sensors for our needs.
• Conduct literature reviews related to ongoing projects.
• Present the latest innovations from literature or internal algorithms to the team.
• Develop algorithms for object detection, pose estimation, or feature recognition.
• Create maps of environments for navigation.
• Develop navigation and control algorithms for robots (humanoids and exoskeletons).
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure overall algorithm performance.
• Test on real robots and in simulation.
• Travel to customer sites to validate algorithms in real-world conditions.
• Automated testing, code quality, and verification pipelines.
