Obsidian is seeking a Computational Astrophysics & Cosmology Expert to design challenging problems for benchmarking AI systems. You will craft graduate-level tasks using real scientific workflows, run simulations, interpret results, and guide experiments.

Ideal candidates hold MS or PhD with hands-on experience in Astropy and related tools, strong Python skills, and the ability to work independently in a Linux environment. The role offers flexible hours and remote collaboration possibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate-level training in astronomy, physics, or a related STEM field.
• Proven proficiency with at least one scientific software library (e.g., Astropy).
• Strong Python skills for problem setups and validators.
• Ability to work independently and iteratively refine problem designs.
