Job summary

SAP SE in Paris (Levallois-Perret) is seeking a software engineer to own end-to-end development of distributed systems within our database cloud platform. You will design and implement scalable components, ensure low-latency access, and participate in code reviews.

The role requires strong Java skills, experience with containers and Kubernetes across clouds, and familiarity with distributed storage and RBAC.

Qualifications

What you'll bring

You are a software engineer with solid experience in distributed systems and scalable data platforms. You bring technical depth and the ability to work autonomously on complex engineering challenges.

• Solid grounding in distributed systems design — concurrency, parallelisation, consensus, scheduling, and resource management — applied in multithreaded production environments
• Experience building scalable microservices and high-throughput APIs for data processing platforms
• Proficiency in Java for production-grade software development
• Hands‑on experience with containers and Kubernetes across private and public clouds (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Awareness with distributed file systems — S3, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), or HDFS — and with Role‑Based Access Control (RBAC) in database or data management platforms
• A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
