Qualifications

  • Ingénieur avec une formation en ingénierie chimique, curieux et motivé par le secteur de l'énergie.

Apprenticeship : IFP School – Technology Engineer (F/M)

Context:

Our Business Division (BD) Technology and Technical Support (T&TS)'s mission is to offer our customers sustainable and efficient solutions in terms of technologies/processes, catalysts/adsorbents and services for all areas covered by Axens (Oil & Biomass conversion, Petrochemicals production & purification, Gas and Water Treatment, CO2 capture).

Within BD T&TS and, there are several product lines depending on our technologies (Gasoline, Petrochemical, Renewables, Low Carbon Solutions and Gas, Sustainable Conversion & Hydroprocessing, Furnaces, Global technical support and Transformation).

Missions:

  1. Participate in the development of technical proposals (whether for an offer or a study).
  2. Participate in 1st phase/2nd phase feasibility studies whether concerning grass root or revamp cases.
  3. Participate in monitoring the development of technologies and the implementation of associated performance prediction tools.
  4. Simulate the units using chemical engineering software (Pro ii), starting from the basis of design defined by specialists in the field, not only to develop process flow diagrams (PFD) but to validate new scheme options as well.
  5. Optimize the existing schemes of the concerned technology in order to reduce operating, investment costs as well as carbon emissions.
  6. Carry out studies about CI (carbon index) score of the involved technology and ways to reduce it (focus on energy efficiency and renewable sources).
  7. Estimate the size of different equipment (fermenters, reactors, columns, pumps, compressors, tanks, etc.) along with their corresponding mass/energy balances.
  8. Participate in monitoring pilot or industrial units in operation.
  9. Estimate the CAPEX and OPEX of the different units involved in the technology (focus on Ex-work, ISBL, OSBL, Total field cost and total installed cost) using Microsoft Excel and/or Axens’ tools.
  10. Carry out competitive and technological monitoring tasks in support of marketing and business development.
  11. Participate in updating or developing marketing messages associated with Business Group technologies.

Profile:

You are an engineer with general or process/chemical engineering education, you are curious and open to the world and you are seeking to work in an international environment.

You are motivated by the refining, petrochemical and renewables sectors and you are keen on the energy-sector changes set to occur in the coming years.

Proactive, team spirit, analytical and interpersonal skills. Curiosity, strategic mindset and ability to understand the big picture.

A good level of English, both written and spoken, is essential, other language(s) appreciated.

Knowledge in chemical engineering softwares (Pro ii / Aspen ..) is also much appreciated.

Curious and open to the world, you work in an international environment. You want to highlight your ability to work in a team, your rigor and your sense of concreteness, while seeking contact with customers.
