Nexans, a leader in electrification, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and build cloud-native data foundations for enterprise AI. You will collaborate with AI engineers, data scientists, and product teams to deliver scalable data platforms and production-ready data products.

You will implement DataOps and MLOps practices, develop ETL/ELT pipelines, and integrate data from SAP, ERP, CRM, and manufacturing systems across a global organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience building enterprise-scale Data Engineering solutions in international organisations.
• Advanced Python and SQL development skills.
• Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark and modern cloud data platforms.
• Experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of DataOps, CI/CD, Git and software engineering best practices.
• Experience supporting AI/ML workloads including MLflow or similar MLOps tools.
• Experience integrating SAP, ERP, CRM or other enterprise systems.

Getting a Flying Start

As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll design and build the cloud-native data foundations that enable enterprise AI at scale. Working alongside AI Engineers, Data Scientists and Digital Product teams, you'll develop robust data platforms, high-performance pipelines and modern engineering frameworks that transform complex business data into production-ready AI solutions. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges while influencing the future of Applied AI across a global organisation.

How You Make an Impact

• Design and develop scalable cloud-based data platforms, architectures and pipelines supporting enterprise AI, Machine Learning and advanced analytics.
• Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs and backend services integrating data from SAP, ERP, CRM, manufacturing and other enterprise systems.
• Partner with AI Engineers and Data Scientists to deliver production-ready datasets, feature engineering pipelines and AI data products.
• Implement modern DataOps, MLOps and software engineering best practices to ensure secure, reliable and highly automated data platforms.
• Drive continuous improvement through reusable engineering frameworks, cloud optimisation and data governance that accelerate AI innovation across Nexans.

Your Starting Points

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 8+ years' experience building enterprise-scale Data Engineering solutions within complex international organisations.
• Advanced Python and SQL development skills.
• Strong experience with Databricks, Apache Spark and modern cloud data platforms.
• Experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines and cloud-native data architectures on Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
• Strong understanding of DataOps, CI/CD, Git and software engineering best practices.
• Experience supporting AI and Machine Learning workloads, including MLflow or similar MLOps technologies.
• Experience integrating enterprise systems including SAP, ERP, CRM or industrial data platforms.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Fluent English with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Vector Databases or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code.
• Knowledge of Power BI or enterprise visualisation platforms.
• Experience within manufacturing, industrial technology or digital transformation environments.
