Mistral Ai is seeking an Applied Scientist/Research Engineer to drive research efforts and partner with clients on AI solutions. You will work on text, image, and speech models, collaborating with science, engineering, and product teams to deliver real, measurable impact.

The role emphasizes large-scale model training, data curation, and building tools to support end-to-end AI solutions for diverse applications.

Qualifications

Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
Expert with PyTorch or JAX.
Comfortable navigating large codebases independently.
Writes clean, readable, high-performance Python code.
Self-motivated and collaborative with a bias to action.
Track record from projects or academia.

Responsabilités

Run pre-training, post-training and deploy state of the art models on clusters with thousands of GPUs.
Generate and curate data for pre-training and post-training, evaluating and beating benchmarks.
Develop tools/frameworks for data generation, training, evaluation and deployment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle complex use cases with agents and retrieval pipelines.
Manage research projects and communications with client research teams.
