• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience supporting large-scale electrical infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of LV/MV distribution systems and cable technologies.
• Experience interpreting electrical drawings and performing technical calculations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel internationally.

Application Engineer - Large Projects & Strategic Infrastructure

Getting a Flying Start

As an Application Engineer, you will become the trusted technical advisor supporting customers throughout the lifecycle of major infrastructure projects. Partnering with EPCs, engineering consultancies, utilities, contractors and end users, you will provide expert guidance on cable selection, specification, compliance and application, ensuring Nexans' solutions are designed into projects from the earliest stages. Working closely with Key Account Managers, Product Management and R&D, you'll combine technical expertise with commercial insight to help win strategic projects across Europe and beyond.

How You Make an Impact

• Provide expert technical support for large infrastructure projects, including data centres, gigafactories, utilities and other critical industrial applications.
• Support customers with cable selection, electrical calculations, technical specifications and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Influence project specifications by working closely with EPCs, engineering consultancies and end users to position Nexans solutions early in the design phase.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product Management and R&D to develop innovative technical solutions that address customer challenges and strengthen Nexans' market position.
• Contribute technical expertise to tenders, customer presentations and complex project pursuits while sharing market insights to support future product development.

Your Starting Points

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Experience supporting large-scale electrical infrastructure projects within an EPC, engineering consultancy, utility, contractor or electrical equipment manufacturer.
• Strong knowledge of LV/MV electrical distribution systems, cable technologies and international electrical standards.
• Experience interpreting electrical drawings, specifications and performing technical calculations using engineering software.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Fluent English and willingness to travel internationally to support customers and strategic projects.

Nice to Have

• Experience within data centres, semiconductor facilities, battery gigafactories, utilities or other critical infrastructure sectors.
• Knowledge of IEC, CPR and other international electrical standards.
• Experience working with cable manufacturers or specification \"spec-in\" activities.
• Additional European language skills, particularly French.
• Experience supporting digital engineering tools, cable sizing software or BIM environments.
