Amcor is seeking an Application Engineer for Hard Cheese Packaging. You will bridge customers, sales and R&D to translate needs into packaging solutions across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The role requires 5+ years in application engineering within flexible packaging, a science degree, and fluent English. Travel >50% is expected, with strong focus on delivering value to customers and advancing product development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in application engineering or similar within flexible packaging (Hard Cheese).
• Degree in Chemistry, Polymers or Materials Science or equivalent by experience.
• Fluent English; ability to travel >50%.

Responsabilités

• Act as a technical expert for packaging applications at customers in Hard Cheese markets across EMEA.
• Support customers with product selection, application optimization and commercialization.
• Collaborate with R&D and Product Management on product enhancements.
• Work with Sales and Field Technical Service to solve complex issues.
• Lead and support product qualifications, trials and scale-ups at customer sites.
• Conduct packaging line, shelf-life and performance evaluations to demonstrate value.
• Capture insights to identify portfolio gaps, opportunities and trends.
• Share knowledge to build strong application capabilities.

What You Will Do

As an Application Engineer, you will sit at the intersection of customers, sales, and R&D, translating application needs into the right packaging solutions.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Act as a technical expert for packaging applications at customers manufacturing in Hard Cheese markets across EMEA


• Support customers with product selection, application optimization, and effective product commercialization


• Support product enhancements and new developments in collaboration with R&D and Product Management


• Work closely with Sales and Field Technical Service to solve complex application issues


• Lead and support product qualifications, trials, and scale-ups at customer sites


• Conduct packaging line, shelf-life, and performance evaluations to demonstrate quantifiable customer value


• Capture customer and market insights to identify portfolio gaps, innovation opportunities, and competitive trends


• Share knowledge internally and contribute to building strong application capabilities across the organization

What You Bring

• 5+ years of experience in application engineering, technical sales, or similar roles within flexible packaging in Hard Cheese segment.


• Bachelor's or Master's degree in (Applied) Sciences (Chemistry, Polymers, Material Sciences) or equivalent by experience.


• Strong understanding of packaging materials and customer manufacturing processes.


• Proven ability to assess customer needs and translate them into practical, scalable solutions.


• Solid project management, problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.


• Comfortable working independently in a cross-functional, international environment.


• Willingness to travel more than 50%.


• Fluent English is required.
