ixolabs.ai seeks an Amharic Language Specialist to create and evaluate foundational data for AI models, focusing on Amharic and the Ge’ez script. You will generate diverse sentences, dialogues, and factual content, and assess linguistic quality.

You will work independently for 10-20 hours per week, ensuring high data quality, providing feedback on cultural relevance, and helping establish NLP guidelines.

Qualifications

• Native fluency in Amharic and expert proficiency in Ge'ez script.
• Deep understanding of Amharic grammar, syntax, and culture.
• Experience in translation, content creation, or linguistic analysis for Amharic.
• Familiarity with NLP concepts is a plus.
• Exceptional written communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and maintain high data quality standards.

Responsabilités

• Generate high-quality Amharic text data, including diverse sentences, dialogues, and factual content.
• Evaluate AI-generated Amharic text for grammatical accuracy, semantic coherence, and naturalness.
• Evaluate Amharic text for linguistic features, including POS tagging and NER within the Ge'ez script.
• Identify and correct errors in machine translation outputs involving Amharic.
• Provide expert feedback on cultural appropriateness and contextual relevance of AI responses.
• Contribute to the development of Amharic NLP guidelines and evaluation standards.

As an Amharic Language Specialist, you will be pivotal in creating and evaluating the foundational language data that teaches AI models to understand and generate text in Amharic, navigating the complexities of the Geˎez script and Ethiopian linguistic nuances.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated Amharic text for grammatical accuracy, semantic coherence, and naturalness.
• Evaluate Amharic text for linguistic features, including part-of-speech tagging and named entity recognition, within the Geˎez script.
• Identify and correct errors in machine translation outputs involving Amharic.
• Provide expert feedback on the cultural appropriateness and contextual relevance of AI responses.
• Contribute to the development of Amharic-specific NLP guidelines and evaluation standards.
