GitGuardian is seeking a senior engineer to join the Incidents Squad in Paris, focusing on building and scaling LLM-powered features for our security platform. You will work on production-grade AI workflows, collaborate with ML engineers, and optimize performance, reliability, and observability across services.

The role requires 5+ years of software engineering, strong Python and API skills, and an ownership mindset. The hybrid Paris office schedule is three days on-site per week.

GitGuardian is a global cybersecurity scale-up with offices in Paris, New York City, and Boston. The company helps enterprises close credential-based breach paths by detecting and remediating secrets found in code, systems, and AI.

About Your Team and Your Mission

You will join the Incidents Squad, responsible for the full lifecycle of a GitGuardian incident—from detection to remediation. AI models are involved at every stage, and your role will focus on improving, scaling, and stabilizing LLM-based features as they move from early-stage to core product workflows.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Build and iterate on LLM features, including agentic workflows, using LangGraph and LangSmith.
• Scale the platform foundations behind these features—orchestration, performance, and reliability.
• Partner closely with the team’s ML engineer on design, evaluation, and productionization of AI systems.

Key Qualifications

• 5+ years of software-engineering experience with a proven track record of shipping production systems.
• Hands-on experience building LLM-powered features in production, with a clear understanding of trade-offs (quality, cost, latency, safety) and how they impact product and business goals.
• Experience systematically improving LLM systems: versioned prompts, offline/online evaluations, data analysis, and iteration based on real-world signals.
• Ability to industrialize LLM systems at scale (caching, batching, model routing, observability, rate limiting, ML CI/CD pipelines).
• Strong proficiency in Python and comfortable working with REST APIs while making pragmatic architectural decisions.
• Senior-level mindset: debugging complex systems, refactoring with intent, reviewing code thoughtfully, and thinking ahead about scalability.
• Ownership mindset: identifying gaps, proposing solutions, and taking initiative beyond immediate scope.
• Ability to connect technical decisions to product and business outcomes.
• Regular use of AI tools in daily workflow.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially with ML teams.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) and comfortable working in an international environment.

Optional Strengthening Skills

• Basic knowledge of Kubernetes and Terraform to deploy and operate services independently.
• French language skills are a plus for day-to-day collaboration in our Paris office.
