Airbus Defence and Space SAS in Toulouse seeks an AI Software Developer to join the Data Management team. You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise AI-powered data engineering software and integrate AI workflows into a Java backend architecture within a SCRUM-driven, transnational environment.

The role focuses on building end-to-end AI applications, deploying ML models, and operating MLOps pipelines, with a strong emphasis on reliability, security, and scalable microservices.

Qualifications

• At least 1 successful experience in AI.
• Strong proficiency in Java development, object-oriented design, REST APIs, and modern backend frameworks (Spring Boot).
• Hands-on experience with Python and popular AI frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, PyTorch, or Hugging Face).
• Experience with MLOps practices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), version control (Git), and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with vector stores (e.g., Pinecone, ChromaDB, Qdrant, or pgvector) for context retrieval.

Responsabilités

• Develop, optimize, and maintain robust backend services in Java (Spring Boot), integrating AI components, LLM orchestration frameworks, and external AI APIs.
• Build end-to-end AI applications using frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or LangChain4j for RAG implementations and autonomous workflows.
• Set up and maintain MLOps workflows for model deployment, monitoring, CI/CD automation, and dataset management (using MLflow or Weights & Biases).
• Ensure high reliability, scalability, and security of software systems within the TSEED1 ecosystem.
• Work closely with software engineers, data engineers, and domain experts to turn AI prototypes into production-grade microservices.

Job Description

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for an AI Software Developer (m/f) to join our Data Management department based in Toulouse, France. You will be part of a team developing and deploying data engineering software products used in the design of space systems. Our solutions and services are at the heart of numerous business processes across various stages of the space system lifecycle (tendering, design, verification, and validation). As a key player in the company's digitalization strategy, our team is driving innovation in how space data is managed and utilized. You will be involved in the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise software solutions powered by artificial intelligence, Generative AI, and machine learning models. You will play a key role in integrating AI workflows directly into our core Java backend architecture and operationalizing MLOps pipelines. You will join an enthusiastic, dynamic, and innovation-driven team working within a transnational context using the SCRUM methodology.

Your challenge

Your profile

• At least 1 succesfull experience in AI is needed.
• Strong proficiency in Java development, object-oriented design, REST APIs, and modern backend frameworks (Spring Boot).
• Hands-on experience with Python and popular AI frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, PyTorch, or Hugging Face).
• Experience with MLOps practices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), version control (Git), and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with vector stores (e.g., Pinecone, ChromaDB, Qdrant, or pgvector) for context retrieval.
• Autonomous, strong problem-solving skills, and comfortable working within a transnational engineering environment.
• This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
