Airbus Defence and Space SAS is seeking a senior leader to orchestrate the company's AI transformation from strategy to execution. You will manage high‑level stakeholders to align AI roadmaps with business goals and oversee building scalable AI foundations across imagery services and solutions.

The role requires extensive experience in software architecture and AI/ML industrialization, with strong DevOps and CI/CD practices applied to data/AI workflows.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Software Engineering / Software Architecture; 3+ years in architectural design or leading AI/ML industrialization projects (MLOps/LLMOps).
• Deep understanding of modern AI ecosystems (Cloud AI services, LangChain/LlamaIndex, model hosting, vector databases).
• Good knowledge of DevOps, Platform Engineering, and CI/CD for data/AI workflows.
• Outstanding communication; able to explain AI concepts to business stakeholders and discuss architecture patterns with senior developers.

Responsabilités

• Define and maintain the long-term AI strategy and governance framework.
• Identify high‑value AI use cases, bootstrap PoCs, and drive Proofs of Concept.
• Define and enforce AI architecture patterns, model validation, and tooling across the organization.
• Coordinate with Digital to provision the technical stack and integrate AI into DevOps platforms.
• Foster AI knowledge sharing and upskilling programs across teams.

Your mission is to orchestrate the company's AI transformation. You will act as the strategic bridge between business ambitions and technical reality. This involves two critical pillars: driving the AI roadmap through high-level stakeholder management to ensure alignment with business goals, and overseeing the build of the technical foundations required to scale AI securely and efficiently across our imagery services & solutions.

Your Challenges

Strategy & Governance

• AI Roadmap & Governance: Define and maintain the long‑term AI strategy, setting up the right guardrails, ethics, and governance framework without slowing down innovation.
• Ideation & PoCs : Act as the primary entry point for business teams; help them identify high‑value AI use cases, bootstrap prototypes, and drive Proofs of Concept (PoCs).

Technical foundations

• Architecture & Standards: Define, maintain, and enforce AI architecture patterns, model validation workflows, and best practices across our organization.
• DevOps & Platform Engineering Integration : Pilot the integration of AI capabilities and model management into our existing DevOps foundries and platform engineering stacks (LLMOps/MLOps).
• AI Foundations : Coordinate with Digital to define and provision the technical stack (GPUs, compute but also AI tooling)

Adoption & Community

• Upskilling : Capture employees needs related to AI knowledge, define and deploy an upskilling program.
• Knowledge sharing : Foster a community of practice around AI, share best practices and lessons learned, create reusable blueprints.
• Assistance : Provide guidance to technical and non‑technical teams on how to leverage existing AI models and tools effectively.

Your Profile

• Experience : 8+ years in Software Engineering / Software Architecture, with at least 3+ years of hands‑on experience in architectural design or leading AI/ML industrialization projects (MLOps/LLMOps).
• Tech Stack Fluency : Deep understanding of modern AI ecosystems (Cloud AI services, LLM orchestration frameworks like LangChain/LlamaIndex, model hosting, and vector databases).
• Engineering Culture : Good knowledge of DevOps, Platform Engineering, and CI/CD practices applied to data/AI workflows.
• Soft Skills : Outstanding communication. You can explain complex AI concepts to business stakeholders and discuss architecture patterns with senior developers. You understand the need for
• Change Management: You are familiar with change management concepts. As a bonus, experience in one or several transformation project(s).
• Industry Context: As a bonus, experience in Geospatial industry
• Language : Fluent in French and in English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
