IXO is seeking specialists to evaluate aerodynamic explanations that align with theory and practical evidence. Your work will be technical, focusing on identifying errors and providing evidence for reliable assessments.

You will create and evaluate problems related to external flow, propulsion integration, and wind tunnels, while verifying CFD and test results with analytical checks and documented criteria. Remote assignments are possible with agreed timing.

Qualifications

• At least three hands-on years in design or analysis across CFD, wind tunnels, propulsion or vehicle aerodynamics.
• Fluent with compressible/incompressible flow, boundary layers, turbulence and propulsion integration; combine analytical reasoning with test-data reduction and CFD.

IXO is engaging specialists to evaluate aerodynamic explanations that remain consistent with theory and practical evidence. Your contribution is technical work: make the reasoning inspectable, identify substantive errors and provide evidence that supports a reliable assessment.

Work you will do

• Create and evaluate problems involving external flow, propulsion integration, wind tunnels or vehicle aerodynamics.
• Check compressible or incompressible-flow reasoning, boundary layers, turbulence assumptions and interpretation of CFD or test results.
• Explain performance conclusions using analytical checks and applicable verification practices, and document reference reasoning or grading criteria.

Preferred background

• An aerospace degree or mechanical degree with aero/thermofluid specialization, with at least three hands-on years in design or analysis across CFD, wind tunnels, propulsion or vehicle aerodynamics.
• Compressible/incompressible flow, boundary layers, turbulence and propulsion integration; combine analytical reasoning with test-data reduction and CFD, observing AIAA and verification/validation practice.
• Fluent, STAR-CCM• or OpenFOAM, wind-tunnel or flight-test work are helpful. Strong evidence of problem authorship, exam/standards committees, textbook solutions, technical competition leadership, recognized papers or early-career research awards is particularly valued.

Deliverables

Submit the completed technical artifact or assessment with its supporting evidence, explicit assumptions, reproducible checks where applicable, and concise reasons for each material judgment. Address review findings within the agreed scope.

Location and schedule

Remote assignments are scheduled by agreement, with no guaranteed weekly volume. IXO confirms the applicable timing before work.
