Job summary

Harmattan AI is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to own the supplier-to-payment cycle for its entities in France. The role involves invoice processing, three-way matching, and managing timely payment runs, including SEPA and international transactions.

You will reconcile accounts, respond to supplier inquiries, and drive AP automation while upholding strong internal controls and compliance with French accounting rules. Fluency in French and professional English are required.

• Reconcile supplier accounts and investigate discrepancies or unallocated payments.
• Answer supplier queries on payment status and disputes, verifying bank detail changes before any update.
• Improve invoice capture, approval workflows and reporting, and drive AP automation.
• Strengthen internal controls and fraud prevention across the AP process.
• Keep AP records and procedures documented to support audits and French accounting compliance.

About the Role

Responsibilities

• Own the full supplier-to-payment cycle, from invoice receipt and coding to approval and payment.
• Perform three-way matching and resolve mismatches with Procurement and Operations.
• Prepare and validate payment runs (SEPA and international) in line with due dates and cash planning.

Candidate Requirements

• 2 to 4 years of experience in accounts payable, ideally in an industrial or high-growth environment.
• Solid command of the full AP cycle, including invoice processing, matching, payment runs and supplier reconciliations.
• Good knowledge of French accounting rules and VAT, including intra-EU and import transactions.
• Proficiency with an ERP or accounting system; advanced Excel and familiarity with AP automation tools are a plus.
• Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency accounting is a plus.
• Rigor and accuracy, with a strong sense of internal control and organization under tight deadlines.
• Autonomy and a process mindset: you spot inefficiencies, document procedures and propose improvements.
• Collaborative, service-oriented approach with buyers, cost center managers and suppliers.
• Fluent French and professional English.
