Lines Manufacturing in Strasbourg is seeking an ambitious Additive Manufacturing PhD Student to join our R&D team. You will conduct cutting-edge research into AM materials, processes and industrial applications with a real-world impact.

You will collaborate with engineers and researchers, prototype new AM technologies, analyze data and contribute to publications and patents while helping translate breakthroughs into commercial products.

Qualifications

What You’ll Do
  • Conduct Groundbreaking Research: Dive deep into additive manufacturing (AM) technologies, focusing on optimizing materials, processes, and applications for industrial use. You’ll have the opportunity to make a real-world impact with your research.
  • Collaborate with Experts: Work alongside top-tier engineers, researchers, and industry professionals, all while contributing to high-impact R&D projects. Exchange ideas, insights, and innovations to drive forward the next generation of AM solutions.
  • Prototype Development: Be hands-on with designing, prototyping, and testing new additive manufacturing technologies and techniques. You’ll push the boundaries of what’s possible and help turn theoretical research into practical, scalable solutions.
  • Data Analysis & Optimization: Leverage data analytics and simulation tools to analyze process efficiency, material performance, and final product quality. Provide valuable insights that influence strategic decision-making.
  • Contribute to Publications & Patents: Present your findings in academic journals and conferences. Contribute to patentable innovations that will set new standards in the additive manufacturing field.
  • Support Commercialization: Work closely with our engineering and production teams to translate research breakthroughs into real-world applications that will enhance Lines Manufacturing’s product offerings and industry leadership.
What You Bring
  • Academic Excellence: You are currently pursuing or about to begin your PhD in Additive Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. A strong academic record and a passion for cutting-edge research are essential.
  • Expertise in AM Technologies: You have hands-on experience with additive manufacturing processes such as metal 3D printing, polymer printing, or advanced materials, and you’re excited to push the boundaries of these technologies.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: You can interpret complex data, apply advanced simulation techniques, and use your insights to solve real-world problems.
