Wolt is seeking an experienced Manager, Tax Technology to lead VAT platform projects for Wolt and Deliveroo. You will manage day-to-day VAT configuration, testing, and delivery, translating business needs into tax system requirements and collaborating with Tax Engineering and product teams.

The role focuses on end-to-end VAT solutions across platforms, with international expansion and new-market launches. Strong leadership, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years of indirect tax or indirect tax technology experience, with VAT regime expertise.
• Hands-on experience implementing or configuring Vertex O Series and reviewing Vertex configurations.
• Experience integrating ERP tax systems (e.g., Netsuite) with Vertex.
• Experience with multi-country VAT implementations and EU VAT compliance.
• Proven people leadership, including coaching and workload delegation.
• Ability to review technical design docs and provide functional tax input to engineering and product.
• Familiarity with US sales and use tax, food & beverage, and retail tax context.
• Ability to map tax data flow from upstream systems through tax engine to reporting.
• Program or project management across dependent teams with milestones and dependency maps.
• Comfort working cross-functionally and influencing roadmaps without formal authority.
• Experience using SQL or Snowflake for data self-serve, issue investigation or testing.
• Experience using API testing tools like Postman or SOAP UI and reading XML/JSON logs.
• Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or Computer Science degree.
• Proficiency with AI tools like Claude Cowork, ChatGPT, Gemini, or Cursor.

Aufgaben

• Lead tax platform and business projects across Wolt and Deliveroo platforms, including new product, market launches, and legislative changes.
• Gather business and VAT requirements and translate them into tax-system functional requirements for configuration, testing and delivery.
• Review BRDs, PRDs, and TDDs for VAT implications and provide functional tax expertise back to Tax Engineering.
• Define testing requirements and oversee validations across unit, integration, E2E, shadow, and post-launch phases.
• Align tax engine priorities with international market roadmaps and report status updates to leadership.
• Trace VAT-relevant data from upstream systems through Vertex to downstream reporting and compliance.
• Serve as the senior functional tax leader for Wolt and Deliveroo, escalating risk and driving cross-functional alignment.
• Manage and develop a team, allocate workload, establish QA checkpoints, and provide knowledge transfer.
