Job summary

Wolt is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the Unified Privacy Platform team. You will guide backend and platform engineers building privacy and consent infrastructure, including the Privacy Center and User Consent Platform, across DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo.

You’ll balance legal, security, and developer velocity while partnering with Product, Legal, Security, and Data Governance to turn complex privacy requirements into scalable, self-service capabilities across multiple brands and

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in people management leading backend or platform teams.
• 8+ years of industry experience.
• Extensive experience as an engineer or engineering leader in fast-paced, platform-focused environments.
• Preferred experience with privacy, consent, data governance, or regulatory systems such as GDPR/CCPA/CPRA.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of backend and platform engineers with a culture of ownership and privacy by design.
• Set and execute technical strategy across privacy-related platforms and governance tooling.
• Build cross-brand User Consent Platform with policy management and audit capabilities.
• Deliver self-service experiences for data-rights requests and consent across multiple brands.
• Translate regulatory requirements into scalable platform capabilities and reusable abstractions.
• Manage migration from fragmented systems to a single source of truth for cross-brand privacy actions.
• Define contracts with data-governance systems and downstream storage teams for traceability and auditable workflows.
• Provide architectural guidance for distributed systems handling sensitive user choices and data delivery.
• Partner with recruiting to foster a diverse, inclusive engineering team.
