Job summary

Comatec Group is seeking a system designer to strengthen our team working with ship machinery and HVAC systems. You will contribute to the development and maintenance of these systems, including design, equipment sizing, testing and procurement.

You will communicate with production, shipowner representatives and equipment suppliers, travel as needed, and work at customer premises in the Helsinki area, with some remote work depending on the project.

Qualifications

• Degree in mechanical engineering or related field is required.
• Experience with technical systems or processes.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Good command of English; Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.

Job description

We are looking for a system designer to strengthen our team working with ship machinery and HVAC systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to apply your expertise to the development and maintenance of ship machinery or HVAC systems. The work includes, among other things, system design and management, selection of equipment and components, as well as testing and procurement.

You have experience in the design and development of machinery or HVAC systems, including equipment sizing, material selection, and component testing. You are able to act as the technical expert for the system and communicate smoothly with different stakeholders, such as production, the shipowner’s representatives, and equipment suppliers. Experience in shipbuilding and working with classification societies is considered an advantage.

The work will be carried out at our customers’ premises in the Helsinki area. Depending on the project, you may also work part of the week remotely.
