Job summary

The University of Oulu invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Science and Technology Studies (STS) and aquatic restoration, within the History, Culture and Communications Unit of the Faculty of Humanities. The role focuses on developing and implementing an independent research plan under SAFIRE and collaborating with Dr. Jose A.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field (STS, anthropology, sociology, or related)
• Excellent written and oral English communications
• Experience with qualitative social science research and publications
• Interest in transdisciplinary knowledge production and environmental governance

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct social science research on aquatic ecologies within the four thematic areas
• Participate in internal research group activities and collaborate with team members
• Produce academic contributions (articles, monographs, non-textual formats)
• Engage in interdisciplinary work within SAFIRE and own projects
• Participate in outreach to academic and non-academic publics
• Assist in writing grant applications for further research funding
• Carry out administrative and community activities related to academic life at the University of Oulu
