Job summary

The University of Oulu invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Anthropology, within the History, Culture and Communications Unit. The researcher will develop and implement their own research plan under SAFIRE, focusing on aquatic ecologies and social dimensions.

Qualifications

PhD completed (within last 10 years)
Excellent written and interpersonal English communication
Interest in environmental management of aquatic habitats in Nordic/Arctic regions
Experience with qualitative social science research and peer-reviewed outputs
Ability to collaborate across disciplines and groups
Wamiliarity with knowledge production beyond social sciences is valued

Responsibilities

Plan and conduct social scientific research on aquatic ecologies engaging with at least two thematic areas
Participate in internal research group activities and collaborate with team members
Produce academic outputs (articles, monographs, non-textual formats)
Engage in interdisciplinary SAFIRE activities and other projects
Contribute to outreach to academic and non-academic publics
Draft and submit applications for research funding
Perform administrative and community duties within the university life
