Job summary

Sampo Group in Helsinki is seeking an Analyst to join its Group Strategy team. You will work on a broad range of strategic questions, analyzing markets, competition, and financial data to provide clear recommendations for senior management and investors.

You will collaborate with senior team members and other experts across the Group, including external advisors on select projects, to drive strategic decisions and value creation in a regulated, capital-intensive industry.

Qualifications

• Experience creating clear, compelling presentation materials for senior management and Board-level audiences.
• Master's degree in finance, industrial engineering and management, strategy or economics.
• Around 1–2 years of relevant experience from strategy, consulting, investment banking, or other analytical business roles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to structure complex questions and draw clear conclusions.
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to utilize AI tools effectively in analytical work.
• Strong written and spoken English skills, with good communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support strategic projects across Sampo Group and its businesses, including If and Hastings.
• Turn complex analyses into clear recommendations and concise presentations for senior management, the Board and investors.
• Conduct market and competitor research, financial and valuation analyses to support strategic initiatives.
• Assist with potential M&A projects when relevant and coordinate with external advisors.
