Job summary

Finnish Design Shop, Inc. in Helsinki seeks a Sourcing Manager to shape our product assortment. You will handle international sourcing, private label development, and supplier relations, driving purchasing strategy with the Buying team and the Purchasing and Category Director.

The role requires several years in retail purchasing, strong negotiation and data-analysis skills, and a focus on sustainable sourcing across multiple categories. Occasional international travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in international sourcing and supplier collaboration.
• Several years of experience in private label sourcing, importing, and factory collaboration across multiple product categories.
• Excellent negotiation skills and a proven track record of successful contract and price negotiations.
• Good analytical skills and the ability to leverage data in purchasing decisions.
• Knowledge of sustainability and responsible sourcing practices.
• Understanding of consumer behaviour and market dynamics.
• Ability to manage multiple product categories and projects simultaneously.
• Experience with ERP or purchasing systems.
• Excellent written and spoken Finnish and English skills, and willingness to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing and category development of designated product categories.
• Contract negotiations, maintaining supplier relationships, and monitoring sales, margin, purchase volumes, stock levels, and supply chain efficiency.
• Work closely with Buyer colleagues and the product management team.
• Actively participate in the selection of new products and brands.
• Report to the Purchasing and Category Director.
