Site Senior Project Manager
1. Introduction

This section outlines the role and expectations for the Verne Site Senior Project Manager, detailing their responsibilities and the standards Verne expects them to uphold.

2. Project Management
  • Has a full and clear understanding of the Project Scope and Contractual Obligations of the Project.
  • Manages the day-to-day operational, technical, scheduling, commercial and tactical aspects of the Project.
  • Oversees Managers and Supervisors working on the Project deliverables. Reviews high-level deliverables across the Project.
  • Implements engagement review and quality assurance procedures in accordance with our methodology to ensure profitable and successful execution of consulting engagements as measured by contractual goals and stakeholders satisfaction.
  • Implements and ensures compliance to all VERNE HSE policies and procedures as measured by contractual goals and stakeholders satisfaction.
  • Minimizes our exposure and risk across the Project.
  • Manages scope and mitigates risk across the Project.
  • Oversees the following of the established key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and track the project’s progress, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Encourages a culture of continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned during the project and implementing them in future projects.
  • Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and works to maintain a safe working environment for all involved.
  • Follows the risk management plan, identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks throughout the project lifecycle.
3. Project Accounting
  • Assists in integrating financial data for the benefit of the Accounting Department.
4. Financial Management
  • Effectively allocates resources to ensure project milestones are met on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Tracks and manages the project budget, ensuring costs are controlled and expenditures remain within approved limits.
  • Overviews the review of financial reports and takes corrective action as necessary to keep the project on budget. Oversees the Management of change requests and change control processes, ensuring proper documentation, assessment, and approval.
5. Communication
  • Serves as key participant in team and customer meetings. Actively participates in team and customer meetings.
  • Ensures continuous and transparent communication with stakeholders, providing updates on project progress, risks, and any potential challenges. Proactively identifies and resolves conflicts or issues that may arise between team members, clients, or other stakeholders. Attends all Stakeholder meetings as VERNE’s representative
  • Raises our visibility through involvement in local industry and community organizations.
  • Confronts issues openly and quickly.
  • Effectively communicates relevant Project/practice information to the Project Director
  • Tactfully communicates sensitive information.
  • Handles difficult personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion, HR advice, and respect for the individual.
6. Technical Understanding
  • Assists in the evaluation and redesign of practice offerings.
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of our service offerings, technical preferences, and technical direction.
  • Ensures that the quality control processes is followed and that all deliverables meet the required standards and client expectations.
  • Regularly assesses project quality and takes corrective actions when deviations from quality standards are identified.

  • Reviews the status reports of team members and addresses issues as appropriate.
  • Complies with and enforces standard policies and procedures across all facets of the Project.
  • Generates internal reports in order to keep Verne Senior Management up to date on all project related activities.
  • Immediately reports any Safety breaches to Verne Senior Management.
