Job summary

GE Energy (Finland) Oy is seeking a Lead Engineer for Power Quality Products to own the technical execution from order intake to delivery, ensuring contract promises meet schedule, budget and quality.

You will coordinate with customers, project management, factories and vendors, lead technical meetings, and supervise documentation, testing and handover, while guiding design approvals and ensuring safe, compliant hardware.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Some experience in project engineering, product delivery, or technical project management, preferably in Power Quality Products, Power Electronics or High Voltage/Power Transmission/Distribution Systems
  • English: Full professional proficiency; Finnish advantageous; French/Spanish/German advantageous.

  • Post-Order Execution: Own the engineering phase from order intake to fulfil contract and schedule.
  • Technical Dimensioning: Perform system engineering, sizing and dimensioning of RPC equipment.
  • Vendor & Factory Liaison: Act as technical primary contact for factories and vendors; manage specs and monitor progress.
  • Project Management Support: Work with Project Managers to maintain timelines and provide status updates.
  • Customer Interface: Lead technical meetings, manage design approvals and ensure customer satisfaction with hardware and documentation.
  • Documentation & Quality: Oversee electrical schematics, assembly manuals, test reports; ensure quality and safety standards.
  • Problem Solving: Provide expert-level technical troubleshooting during manufacturing, testing, or handover.

Job description

As a Lead Engineer for Power Quality Products, you will be the technical lead responsible for the successful execution of projects from order intake through to final delivery. You will own the technical integrity of the solution, ensuring that what was promised to the customer is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will act as the key interface between customers, internal project management, factories, and external vendors, managing technical dimensioning, component procurement, and final documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Post-Order Execution: Take ownership of the project engineering phase immediately upon order intake. Ensure all technical requirements are fulfilled according to the contract and project schedule.
  • Technical Dimensioning: Perform detailed system engineering, including sizing and dimensioning of Reactive Power Compensation (RPC) equipment to ensure compliance with customer technical specifications and grid code requirements.
  • Vendor & Factory Liaison: Serve as the technical primary point of contact for factories and third-party vendors. Manage equipment specifications, monitor production progress, and ensure quality control during manufacturing.
  • Project Management Support: Collaborate closely with Project Managers to maintain project timelines. Provide technical status updates, identify potential bottlenecks, and proactively resolve engineering-related issues.
  • Customer Interface: Act as the technical face of the project for the customer. Lead technical meetings, manage design approvals, and ensure customer satisfaction regarding the delivered hardware and documentation.
  • Documentation & Quality: Oversee the creation of all required project documentation, including electrical schematics, assembly manuals, and test reports. Ensure all deliverables meet internal quality and safety standards.
  • Problem Solving: Provide expert-level technical troubleshooting should challenges arise during manufacturing, testing, or final project handover.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field from an accredited university or college.
  • Experience: Some experience in project engineering, product delivery, or technical project management, preferably in Power Quality Products, Power Electronics or High Voltage/Power Transmission/Distribution Systems
  • Language Skills:
  • English: Full professional proficiency (essential for international vendor and customer communication).
  • Finnish: Strong advantage for coordinating with local stakeholders and site operations.
  • French and/or Spanish and/or German will be an advantage.

  • Leadership: Ability to lead technical discussions, influence factory output, and resolve conflicts in a fast-paced delivery environment.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400-164,000 USD. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
