Job summary

VERNE is seeking a Project Engineering Lead to drive the engineering execution of a Data Center project in Finland. Based locally, you will be the primary technical interface between design deliverables and procurement, delivery, and construction teams, ensuring adherence to Verne's standards and delivering on time and within budget.

You will lead a discipline team, manage specialist subcontractors, review technical deliverables, and sign off on variations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical sciences.
5+ years hands-on technical experience in construction, manufacturing, or design-build environments.
3+ years in Project Engineering, Project Lead, or Site Technical Manager with accountability for technical compliance and deliverables schedule.
Significant experience in managing specialist subcontractors and performing FAT/SAT.

Responsibilities

Translate engineering intent into a constructed, operational facility aligned with the Project Execution Plan.
Apply the Project Engineering Strategy across all project phases and ensure third-party proposals meet standards and timelines.
Manage design meetings, drive buildability, and ensure timely engineering deliverables for procurement and construction.
Liaise between design, supply chain, and construction teams to sign off on technical specifications and changes.
Oversee specialist subcontractors, review their work, and ensure alignment with project goals and specs.
Direct discipline managers to maintain technical compliance with supplier documentation and standards.
Inspect supplier facilities and address technical non-conformities, factory/site acceptance testing, and sign-offs.
Support commissioning, handover, and accurate As-Built documentation.
