Job summary

Unity is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Web Platform team in Helsinki. You will shape the architecture of the Unity Web runtime, tackling deep, low-level challenges and enabling browser-based real-time graphics.

You’ll work with teams across Unity to define priorities and deliver robust, high-performance web capabilities. You will mentor engineers, translate complex trade-offs into clear recommendations, and help set the standard for code quality.

Qualifications

• Expert level C++ in low-level, performance sensitive code.
• Substantial development experience with WebAssembly and Emscripten/LLVM.
• Proven track record of owning architecture for a platform or runtime.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction and architecture of the Unity Web platform.
• Resolve complex runtime problems with deep root-cause analysis.
• Research and implement optimizations: code stripping, progressive loading, multithreading.
• Prioritize and deliver platform work with manager alignment.
• Act as first-line support for Unity teams and partners for core Web platform needs.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across the team.
