Job summary

VEO is strengthening its electrical design team and seeks an experienced Senior System Engineer. You will work on secondary design of substation projects and be responsible for implementing demanding design entities, including the design of control and protection systems as well as DC and AC systems.

You will mainly use Eplan and AutoCAD; collaborate with lead designers, project managers, and clients to meet requirements, standards, and schedules.

Qualifications

• Experience in secondary design of substation projects.
• Design of control and protection systems as well as DC/AC systems of substations.
• Dimensioning calculations, cable routing design, and project design documentation.

We are strengthening our electrical design team and are looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer. As a senior electrical designer, you will work as an expert in secondary design of substation projects and be responsible for implementing demanding design entities. You will be responsible for the design of control and protection systems as well as the DC and AC systems of substations. Your tasks also include dimensioning calculations, cable routing design, and preparing project design documentation.

You will mainly use Eplan and AutoCAD software in your design work. You will work closely with lead designers, project managers, and clients to ensure that the technical solutions meet customer requirements, design standards, and project schedules. You will monitor the progress of the design, participate in defining technical solutions, developing design principles, and providing technical guidance for projects. Based on your experience and interest, you may also participate in primary design and commissioning of substations in Finland and other Nordic countries.

As an experienced expert, you will take responsibility for demanding technical entities, act as a mentor, and provide technical support to younger designers. You will support their professional development, actively share your knowledge, and participate in developing design practices and skills within the team.

This is a permanent and full-time position. The main office of VEO is located in Vaasa, but you can also work from the offices in Seinäjoki, Tampere, Paimio, or Rovaniemi. Additionally, we offer a flexible hybrid work model.

Experience in primary design and commissioning of substations is an advantage.
