Job summary

ReOrbit seeks a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to lead the structural analysis of spacecraft and develop internal tools for post-processing and evaluation of test results. The role is based at our Helsinki headquarters, Finland, and requires deep expertise in FEM, dynamic/static analysis and software tools.

You will drive model development, verify bolted joints per ECSS/VDI, and collaborate with mechanical, thermal and system engineers while preparing comprehensive analysis and test

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical engineering or similar.
  • At least 10 years of experience in static and dynamic analyses of spacecraft/launcher structures.
  • Experience with Altair HyperWorks and MSC/Simcenter Nastran is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Python and MATLAB.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Create mathematical structural models using FEM.
  • Perform static and dynamic analyses of satellites and subsystems.
  • Consolidate finite element models using the Craig-Bampton method.
  • Bolted joints verification according to ECSS-HB-32-23 and VDI-2230.
  • Define test plans and procedures, perform test predictions and correlations.
  • Collaborate with mechanical design, thermal and system engineers.
  • Develop internal tools for evaluation and post-processing of analyses and tests.
  • Prepare structural analysis and test documentation.
  • Present results internally and to the customer.

Job description

ReOrbit is looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Structural Analysis Engineerto join our growing team at our headquarters in Helsinki, Finland. You will be responsible for the structural analysis of spacecraft structures anddevelopment of internal tools for the evaluation and post-processing of theanalysis and test results. It is an exciting chance to join a dynamic start-up, with the opportunity to make areal impact and reach our goal of pushing the boundaries of space data transfer.

Responsibilities
  • Creation of mathematical structural models using the finite element method(FEM).

  • Carrying out static and dynamic analyses of satellites and their subsystems.

  • Condensation of finite element models using the Craig-Bampton method.

  • Bolted joints verification according to ECSS-HB-32-23 and VDI-2230.

  • Definition of test plans and procedures, perform test predictions and test-model correlations.

  • Collaboration with mechanical design, thermal and system engineers.

  • Contribution to technical exchanges with suppliers and customers.

  • Development of internal tools for the evaluation and post-processing oftheanalysis and test results.

  • Development and implementation of standards and procedures.

  • Preparation of structural analysis and test documentation.

  • Presentation of the results internally and to the customer.

Skills and Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical engineering or similar qualification.

  • At least 10 years of professional experience in the fields of static and dynamicanalyses of spacecraft/launcher structures.

  • Practical experience using Altair HyperWorks and MSC/Simcenter Nastran isan advantage.

  • Basic proficiency with one or more programming languages such as Pythonand MATLAB.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Organized, autonomous and attentive to detail.

  • Team player capable of integrating into a multicultural team.
