Job summary

NestAI is building sovereign AI models for defence to enable battlefield autonomy and orchestration. We are hiring a Model Engineer to join the initiative, a senior developer role focused on developing models for battlefield autonomy and orchestration.

You will work on pre-training, fine-tuning, evaluation, multimodal learning, long-context reasoning, model compression, and deployment trade-offs. This role requires deep technical competence and the ability to operate in an evolving environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience training, fine-tuning, and evaluating ML models, including multimodal or large-scale models.
• Ability to work in a still-forming environment with evolving tooling and data.
• Interest in geospatial/spatial reasoning, simulation, or embodied AI.

Responsibilities

• Build and iterate on model prototypes across tracks from PoC to benchmarks.
• Work on multimodal and geospatial reasoning problems.
• Help stand up evaluation harnesses and benchmarks with a real baseline.
• Work with simulated data and coordinate with data owners.
• Contribute technical judgment and detect when to pivot.
