Job summary

NestAI Oy is seeking an AI Engineer (Forward Deployment Engineering) to embed within customer environments and bridge research with real-world deployment. You will work at the intersection of machine learning, deep learning, decision-making, and increasingly LLM-driven workflows.

This role emphasizes adapting models to field data, rapid prototyping, and collaboration across platform, embedded, and perception teams to deliver production-ready AI in edge environments.

Qualifications

• Strong background in signal processing (classical or learned)
• Solid ML theory and deep learning architectures, adaptable to new subfields
• Proficiency in Python with PyTorch/TensorFlow and LLM tooling (LangChain)
• Excellent communication with customers and stakeholders, consultative mindset
• Understanding of data pipelines and model deployment (edge-based)
• Experience with Git and Linux environments
• Familiarity with cloud/edge compute (GCP/AWS/Azure) or hardware accelerators
• Willingness to travel and work in customer environments

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customer teams to understand requirements and translate them into concrete technical problems.
• Design and implement algorithms for sequential decision-making, autonomous behavior, or specialized workflows.
• Adapt and fine-tune models for real operational data and imperfect conditions.
• Rapidly build prototypes in-field or in customer development environments and move successful ones to production.
• Collaborate with platform, embedded, and perception teams to integrate learnings into NestOS.
• Build lightweight simulations, test harnesses, or data pipelines on-site to validate algorithms.
• Apply state-of-the-art research to production code under deployment pressure.
