Smartly is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the reporting platform, designing and building backend services that power performance analytics for major brands.

You will work on distributed systems, scale, and integrations with Kafka, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, and related ecosystems, mentoring peers and shaping technical direction.

Qualifications

• Experience building large-scale, highly available backend systems.
• Strong PostgreSQL/ClickHouse fundamentals and query performance.
• Experience with Kafka and asynchronous processing.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the reporting engine for flexible analytical views across advertising data.
• Address performance, reliability, and large-scale analytical workloads.
• Create interfaces to integrate new advertising channels into a cohesive platform.
• Own design to production across the backend stack (Ruby, TypeScript, Kafka, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL/Citus).
• Improve architecture and engineering practices for maintainability at scale.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical direction.
