Job summary

Forge Digital in Finland is seeking a Senior Developer or Architect to design and build robust, scalable systems for industrial clients. You will take technical ownership of complex projects, collaborate with clients, and influence how Forge works.

You will work with .NET/C#, Node.js/TypeScript, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) in a hybrid on-site/off-site setup at our offices in Helsinki and Tampere, contributing to AI-powered and real-time solutions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on AI-assisted development across complex systems.

As a Senior Developer or Architect at Forge, you will design and build robust, scalable systems – from operational and business applications to industrial operator interfaces and real‑time situational awareness solutions. You will take technical ownership of complex projects, collaborate closely with clients, and help shape how we work.

• Development of AI-powered solutions: applied AI for decisioning, optimization, and predictive systems, as well as agentic and generative AI capabilities embedded directly into business applications
• Development of operational work‑enhancing solutions and real‑time situational awareness systems
• Development of integrations connecting production, business, and automation systems (IT/OT)
• Development of data pipelines, data platforms, and event-driven architectures
• Business-critical and high‑availability system development
• Legacy system modernization for AI-assisted development practices

Our main technology stack includes .NET, C#, Node.js, NestJS, and TypeScript – though we are technology‑agnostic and always select the best tools considering the entire solution lifecycle. We work with Azure and AWS cloud platforms, hybrid cloud environments, and on‑premises solutions.

Fluency in both written and spoken Finnish and English is required.

How to forge success in this role

To succeed in this role, you bring solid hands‑on experience in software development and a genuine interest in building industrial‑grade solutions. The following are what we consider essential:

• AI-assisted development: You are comfortable working in AI-assisted development workflows – using AI tooling to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and maintain high standards of human oversight.
• Software architecture: You can design and own the technical architecture of complex, distributed systems – making sound decisions that consider the full solution lifecycle.
• Core technologies: Strong knowledge of most of our main technologies (.NET/C#, Node.js/TypeScript) and databases such as MS SQL, PostgreSQL, and/or document databases.
• Container environments: Comfortable working with containerized applications and deploying to Kubernetes or similar environments.
• Event-driven architectures: Solid experience designing and building event‑driven systems and messaging patterns, using tools such as RabbitMQ or Azure Service Bus.
• Domain knowledge: Background in manufacturing, logistics, or energy sectors.
• Cloud and infrastructure mindset: Solid understanding of Azure and/or AWS services, cloud‑native architectures, and hybrid environments.
• Communication & client interaction: As a senior member in a consultancy setting, you are comfortable engaging with clients, facilitating technical discussions, and translating business needs into technical solutions.

The following experience is considered an advantage:

• Experience building and integrating LLM-based solutions, including agentic workflows and MCP-based systems
• Experience with industrial data exchange standards such as OPC UA or similar IT/OT integration patterns
• Frontend development experience (React or similar)
• Python and data engineering or analytics background
