Job summary

VTT is seeking an experienced Principal/Senior Scientist in Corrosion and Electrochemistry to strengthen our nuclear materials research team. You will lead research and customer projects on corrosion, electrochemistry, and material performance in demanding environments, with opportunities to develop new areas such as advanced reactor coolant environments and predictive methods.

Qualifications

PhD in a relevant field (materials science, electrochemistry, corrosion, chemistry or nuclear engineering).
Strong expertise in corrosion, electrochemistry and materials degradation.
Experience with experimental corrosion or electrochemical research; high-temperature water chemistry or nuclear environments is valuable.

Responsibilities

Lead and guide research on corrosion, electrochemistry and materials degradation in nuclear environments.
Develop experimental approaches for corrosion and electrochemical studies in challenging conditions.
Take technical ownership of research projects and contribute to large national/international initiatives.
Build new research projects and funding proposals with partners.
Foster customer relationships and communicate technical topics to diverse audiences.
Publish high-quality results and represent VTT in networks and collaborations.
