Job summary

Wärtsilä in Helsinki, Finland, is seeking a Senior Sales Manager, Fleet Optimisation to lead the growth of our nautical offering in the merchant fleet. You will connect bridge technology investments with digital fleet services, working across markets to drive adoption of Navi-Sailor, Navi-Planner, and related E-Navigation solutions.

You will develop strategic relationships with ship owners and operators, leverage distributor networks, and contribute to decarbonisation through smarter navigation.

Qualifications

• Relevant education, preferably BSc or MSc (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
• Deep understanding of maritime navigation, bridge operations, and upcoming regulatory shifts (such as S-100).
• Strong commercial acumen bridging nautical realities and fleet management.
• Experience with distributor/reseller channel models and generating demand centrally.
• Exceptional communication skills with authority to Masters on the bridge and Technical Directors ashore.
• Proven B2B sales experience in maritime navigation, bridge systems, voyage solutions or other mission-critical marine technology.

Responsibilities

• Drive market adoption of next-generation navigation solutions.
• Identify replacement opportunities and run campaigns with distributors.
• Collaborate with distributors to deploy co-marketing and incentives.
• Develop opportunities where upgrades lead to recurring digital fleet services.
• Generate retrofit and newbuild leads routed to distributors for installation.
