Job summary

Wärtsilä seeks a Design Engineer to strengthen our Propulsion Controls and System Engineering team. You will lead design engineering on advanced propulsion control systems for marine applications, ensuring integration with existing interfaces and spaces.

The role spans development, testing, and collaboration with subcontractors and international customers. We value 5+ years in designing control systems in the maritime or industrial automation sectors, with C/C++/PLC and network protocol skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master level degree in industrial automation or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in designing control systems in maritime or industrial automation.
• Proven ability to lead design engineering and coordinate with subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design engineering team in creating advanced propulsion control systems and ensure integration with interfaces and spaces.
• Oversee subcontractors during production to ensure quality and adherence to agreements.
• Provide technical guidance to customers and develop testing and troubleshooting procedures.
• Support sales with on-site surveys, technical specifications, and cost estimations during early phases.
