We have an ambitious development roadmap for risk models, and together with our colleagues across Nordea, we are shaping the future of banking. At Nordea, we use internal models to calculate regulatory capital. These models are developed and maintained within the Risk Models organisation and rely on a comprehensive data asset that aggregates information from across Nordea’s data landscape. Data analytics is at the core of statistical modelling, enabling deep understanding of the data used for regulatory and business‑critical purposes.

Our role is to add value to Nordea and our customers by strengthening data quality, enhancing transparency and understanding of our data, and enabling modelling teams to build robust models. Our work supports financial calculations and helps bank advisors make sound credit decisions.

Our team plays a key role in driving complex data deliveries related to IRB modelling datasets. We also coordinate data‑related activities and collaborate closely with other areas within Risk Models as well as with IT and business stakeholders.

Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in how we work and how we make decisions – and that we imagine you share with us.

  • Data reconciliation across multiple sources.
  • Root‑cause analysis and remediation of data quality issues.
  • Integration of new data sources.
  • Refining and clarifying business requirements to ensure accurate and efficient implementation.
  • Providing clear and structured status updates to relevant stakeholders as a subject matter expert.
  • Preparing analysis, reports, and documentation for senior management and external or regulatory reporting.
  • Acting, when required, as a bridge between business and IT to ensure a shared understanding and effective collaboration.
Who You Are

This is the right role for you if bring:

  • Proven ability to operate effectively in complex, fast‑paced environments, adapting priorities while maintaining delivery focus.
  • Strong structuring and coordination capabilities, with experience managing multiple parallel workstreams and end‑to‑end deliveries.
  • High level of independence and accountability, combined with the ability to work effectively across teams and senior stakeholder groups.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the capability to assess complex data, models, and sprocesses, and translate findings into clear insights and recommendations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with confidence to engage, challenge, and influence stakeholders, and to translate business needs into clear requirements for IT and other technical teams.
  • A proactive and solution‑oriented mindset, with a genuine drive for continuous improvement, knowledge development, and contributing to the long‑term capability of the team.
Your background and skills include
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis of IRB modeling datasets, acquired through hands‑on work in the banking sector or consulting engagements
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience with data analysis in structured database environments, working with large and complex datasets
  • Knowledge of IRB-related processes and relevant regulatory requirements would be considered an advantage.
  • Strong practical experience with SQL and Python, or similar analytical and programming languages, applied in a professional context over multiple years
  • Model implementation experience in credit risk applications would be considered an advantage.
  • A Master’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, physics, mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field, or equivalent senior‑level professional experience demonstrating comparable expertise.
