Job summary

Nordea in Helsinki is seeking a Senior IT Analyst to strengthen the Markets Middle Office Accounting team. You will drive testing and quality across releases, translating business needs into clear, testable requirements and validating data and logic across integrated systems.

You will design end-to-end test cases, collaborate with developers during refinement, and sign off on releases. Finance domain experience and ISTQB or equivalent certification are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in business or functional analysis.

• Experience in requirements gathering, refinement, and documentation.
• Hands-on test case design, defect management, and release validation.
• Knowledge of SQL for data investigation and validation.

We're seeking a Senior IT Analyst who is passionate about quality and testing. In this role, you'll help drive quality across the Accounting team by refining requirements, validating data and business logic, and ensuring every release meets the highest standards.

What you'll be doing:

• Analyze and translate business needs into clear, structured, and testable requirements in collaboration with stakeholders
• Partner with developers during refinement to shape solutions and validate logic and setup decisions
• Validate data quality and business logic throughout the development lifecycle
• Execute end-to-end business flow validations and verify expected outputs across integrated systems
• Prepare test cases covering not only the happy path, but also corner cases and cross-system impacts
• Ensure release readiness and provide quality assurance sign-off before deployment

Who You Are

You are an analytical problem solver with a passion for quality. You enjoy understanding complex business processes, working with data, and collaborating with both business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure successful outcomes.

Your background and skills include:

• Senior-level experience in business or functional analysis
• Ability to translate business intent into specific, structured, and testable requirements
• Experience in requirements gathering, refinement, and documentation
• Hands-on experience with test case design, defect management, and release validation
• Practical knowledge of SQL for data investigation and validation
• Strong communication skills and a structured, ownership-driven approach
• Experience in finance, banking, insurance, or another regulated, data-heavy domain

Nice to have:

• Experience with test automation tools or scripting
• Experience with tools such as Jira, qTest, Confluence, or similar
• ISTQB certification (or equivalent)
