Job summary

Skylo Technologies, Inc. in Espoo, Finland, seeks an automation-oriented Senior IREG & Network Test Engineer to own the roaming and IREG gate. You will shift manual, partner-dependent testing to an automated regression pipeline and scalable test environments.

Responsibilities include developing test strategy, roaming validation, NTN-specific tests, and creating automation harnesses, with cross-functional collaboration across Signaling, Routing, Billing, NOC, and Product teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in roaming validation, mobile core operations, interconnect routing, IREG testing, or telecommunications network testing.
• Strong understanding of Diameter routing and SS7/MAP concepts (S6a/S6d, SGd, roaming authentication/registration flows).
• Advanced protocol troubleshooting with Wireshark traces to diagnose failures across multiple partners.
• Experience designing automated telecom testing frameworks using Python integrated with CI/CD.
• Fluency handling IR.21/RAEX data profiles, PLMN structures, IMSI, and TADIG codes.

Responsibilities

• Develop Test Strategy: Define IREG test strategy, pass/fail metrics, network tracing protocols, and sign-off processes for each partner MNO.
• Execute Roaming Validation: Run end-to-end roaming testing across network registration, attach sequences, S6a/S6d, SGd SMS-over-NAS, and IP/NIDD data paths.
• Optimize for NTN: Run GSMA roaming suite while introducing NTN-specific validation test cases.
• Build Automation Harnesses: Create and maintain an automation test harness and lab for GSMA and Skylo routing scenarios.
• Trace Analysis: Analyze Diameter/SS7 traces and logs to isolate configuration issues across Skylo, IPX, and MNO.
• Defect Management: Turn failures into regression tests, perform root-cause analysis, and retest.
