Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. in Tampere, Finland, invites applications for a Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer to join the global FACTS NPI team. You will drive R&D on STATCOM/SVC control systems and collaborate with the Control Software Engineering team to deliver innovative solutions.

You will work to publish patents and technical papers, report to the FACTS NPI Manager, and contribute to future products in a dynamic international environment.

Qualifications

MSc or higher in Power / Control System Engineering or equivalent.
Specialized knowledge in Electrical Power Engineering and Control system design.
Understanding of control theory behind grid connected devices.
Knowledge in compensation systems and power electronics.
Experience with simulation tools such as PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, RTDS or PSSE.
Fluent written and oral skills in English and Finnish.

Responsibilities

Rigour execution of NPI projects.
Design and implementation of new control features for STATCOM and SVC.
Produce high quality study documents and specifications.
Plan, specify, organize and participate testing.
Collaborate with Control Software Engineering team.
