Job summary

GE Vernova in Tampere, Finland, seeks a Lead New Product Introduction Engineer to advance control system design for high-power FACTS devices. You will collaborate with the Control Software Engineering teams and the NPI group to deliver innovative features and robust documentation.

You will drive NPI projects, work with global teams, and contribute to patents/publications while supporting tendering and cross-functional testing in a multinational environment.

Qualifications

• MSc or higher in Power/Control System Engineering or equivalent.
• Specialized knowledge in electrical power engineering and control system design.
• Experience with grid-connected devices and control theory basics.
• Knowledge of power electronics and compensation systems.
• Experience with simulation tools PSCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, RTDS or PSSE.
• Fluent English and Finnish preferred; cross-cultural collaboration is common.

Responsibilities

• Rigour execution of NPI projects and to design/implement new control features.
• Produce high-quality study documents and specifications.
• Plan, specify, organise and participate in testing activities.
• Engage in technical negotiations with end customers and stakeholders.
• Support equipment sourcing and tendering processes.
• Create innovative solutions and contribute to R&D in FACTS control systems.
• Educate stakeholders and drive IP and publications when appropriate.
